A more effective way of communicating and more mutual understanding are needed to create the synergy that is currently missing between representatives of the IT sector and the media, all with the aim of creating economic betterment and supporting this strategic branch of the economy.
The IT industry, as the fastest growing industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which earns its income mainly through operations on the foreign market and the export of software services or the creation of innovative solutions, shows humanity through its daily operations and the need to contribute to BiH society through philanthropic activities. We are witnessing numerous donations of equipment, free educational programs for young people, and a large number of scholarships for students of all types of studies, where a greater presence in the media would ensure greater interest of the authorities and political actors for more active strategic action, and the adoption of measures that would help this industry reach its full potential. Over 8,000 employees currently work in the IT industry, with a turnover of over 800,000,000 convertible marks, and the industry is continuously developing.
The first event called "IT and Media Workshop" was held on March 21 this year in the premises of the Pino Nature Hotel in Trebević, organized by Bit Alliance, the umbrella association of the largest IT companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a partner of the International Help organization and the MarketMakers project funded by the Government of Switzerland.
"In the last few years, the IT sector has contributed significantly to the development of the BiH economy, and we believe that the public should be informed in the right way about all the potential that this branch has for the benefit of our domestic economy and the region. Our wish was to encourage dialogue between the media and IT companies with this event, precisely with the aim of identifying obstacles in the communication between the IT sector and the media, and we are ready to create better cooperation, both with the media from BiH and from the region. Our plan is to create a better environment for the cooperation of the media and IT companies, and we plan to organize this kind of event every year," said Damir Maglajlić, executive director of Bit Alliance.

The event brought together over 50 key actors from the IT sector of BiH and representatives of the media, as well as representatives of regional ICT clusters, and through an interactive discussion, key resolutions were reached to improve the communication of the mentioned actors, all with the aim of sharing the opportunities that the ICT sector can bring to the economy and to the economic growth and development of the countries of the Balkan region.
"We believe that the event gave an insight into the problems and some of the obstacles in the communication of representatives of the IT sector with the media from BiH, as well as from the region, and we hope that in the end there will be a strengthening of the cooperation of these actors, all with the result of reducing the migration of young people in BiH and the region, as well as increasing employment" - said Almin Adžović, manager for BiH in front of the International Help organization.

"Given that the IT sector is the driver of development, which not only keeps young people in BIH but also offers them innovative and quality jobs, we believe that the media should be Bit Alliance's partners in advocating positive changes for society, especially in the public sector. We are working with Bit Alliance on a series of analyzes relevant to the sector, with which the media should be familiar in order to influence positive changes with joint efforts," said Dinka Majanović, deputy project manager of the MarketMakers project.

One of the conclusions was that Bit Alliance will be the mediator of communication between the representatives of the largest IT companies in BiH and the media, and that in this way the most effective flow of information will be ensured. Bit Alliance says that all media interested in cooperation can contact via email contact@bit-alliance.ba or directly to the associate for marketing and projects Hamza Čengić via email hamza.cengic@bit-alliance.ba.
