Berlin, June 2025
GITEX Europe 2025, one of the world’s leading events dedicated to technology, innovation, and digital transformation, is currently taking place in Berlin. For the first time in history, Bosnia and Herzegovina is participating with a national pavilion, giving the country’s IT sector and startup scene the well-deserved recognition on the European map of technological development.
This landmark appearance is organized by Bit Alliance, with the initiative of the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and strong partnership support from the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, and BH Telecom. In addition to institutional backing, the pavilion is further strengthened through the technical and logistical contributions of MySim2Go and Gazzda. This marks the most ambitious international presentation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s IT sector to date—both in scale and strategic importance.
“Today, Berlin sees what we have been building for years: Bosnia and Herzegovina is the new European tech address. We came to GITEX Europe with a clear message — we are no longer hidden talents from the Balkans, but a reliable partner delivering world-class digital solutions to the global market. Our ambition is to set the bar high and then exceed it. I am confident we can, because we have the knowledge, creativity, and unwavering support within our ecosystem. It’s time for Bosnia and Herzegovina to stand shoulder to shoulder with Europe and help shape the future of the digital economy,”said Damir Maglajlić, Executive Director of Bit Alliance.
“It was a privilege to represent the Bosnian tech sector in our pavilion. Nearly thirty domestic companies are showcasing their solutions here, and judging by their first reactions, we have achieved our main goal — opening doors to new European markets. Bosnia and Herzegovina is rapidly catching up with the rest of Europe in providing digital services. We are already working on joint projects with several EU countries, and I believe that by 2026, through the implementation of the digital wallet application, citizens will be able to travel with a digital wallet — including an e-passport, e-ID, e-driver’s license, and qualified electronic signature,”said Edin Forto, Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
GITEX Europe gathers over 1,000 exhibitors, tens of thousands of visitors, and hundreds of global investors and decision-makers. The participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina represents not only a symbolic milestone but also a tangible opportunity to open international markets, attract investments, and position the country as a trusted digital partner.
“I am extremely impressed by the performance of Bosnian companies at GITEX Europe and proud that our presentation ranks among the best in the region — and among the most prominent at the entire fair. This does not surprise me: back in September last year, when it was announced that GITEX was coming to Europe, I heard that Bosnia and Herzegovina was considered one of the strongest countries in terms of talent, ideas, and the number of companies already recognized internationally. Achievements like this are excellent news for Bosnia and Herzegovina and make my discussions with German partners on stability and progress much easier. Through concrete examples like this, we show why cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the strategic interest of the Federal Republic of Germany,”said H.E. Damir Arnaut, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Bosnian Pavilion brings together prominent companies and organizations from the IT and startup ecosystem, including RUBICON, Klika, Authority Partners, Walter Code, QSS, Bloomteq, Verlab Institute, ORKA, Rolla, Atlantbh, LANACO, SCode, evoila, Skyline Communications, and Softray Solutions. A special section, Startup Community powered by GIZ in BiH, features elevate, Foundation 787, Sarajevo VRX Immersive Museum, Foundation IMPAKT, SSST, Valens, Zendev, E387, Emaq, and FabLab.
Within the pavilion, a series of expert panels, thematic presentations, and B2B meetings with potential partners from across Europe are planned. Events of this kind not only promote domestic companies but also build trust in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capacity to actively contribute to Europe’s digital future.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s participation in GITEX Europe 2025 marks a clear turning point — from local ambition to regional and international presence. Through coordinated collaboration between the industry, government, and international partners, the country sends a strong message: Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready, capable, and open for digital investment and technological alliances.
