On January 30, the "EU for Jobs of the Future" project was presented in Sarajevo, worth 5.5 million euros, which through targeted measures will contribute to increasing employability and creating new jobs for women, young people, long-term unemployed and vulnerable groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project will enable the professional training and retraining of at least 1,800 people, while at least 600 people from the target categories will get the opportunity for employment through support to employers, starting their own business or formalizing employment.

The program is implemented within the framework of at least 20 active employment measures, focused primarily on the green and digital economy, and is implemented by the International Labor Organization with the financial support of the European Union. These measures are designed to support, through grants, professional development and workforce integration in sectors that play a key role in the economic growth and digital transformation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of the promotional event, a panel discussion was held "How to effectively support people far from the labor market to take advantage of the opportunities created by the green and digital economy?", which was attended by representatives of relevant institutions, including employment offices, local authorities and the IT sector. Among the participants was Damir Maglajlić, executive director of Bit Alliance, who presented the perspective of the IT industry and emphasized the importance of digital competences in employment processes.

Bit Alliance, as the umbrella organization of the IT sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, actively participates in initiatives that support the development of digital skills and increase employability in the IT industry. Through projects such as edu.itkarijera.ba, industrial practices and cooperation with universities, Bit Alliance continuously works to harmonize education with the needs of the labor market, thereby creating sustainable opportunities for employment in the sectors of the future.
