Sarajevo, June 20, 2025
Bit Alliance, the leading association of IT companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has opened applications for CoderDojo 2025, a free summer programming school for children and youth aged 13 to 17. The program will take place in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Zenica, and Travnik. The main sessions will be held from July 14 to August 1, while the Mostar edition will run from August 25 to September 5, in cooperation with local technical faculties.

“Our goal is to provide children and young people across BiH with a safe and encouraging environment to take their first steps into the IT world. In the past two years alone, more than 350 young participants have completed the CoderDojo program, proving the real need and interest in such initiatives. CoderDojo not only develops technical skills but also nurtures teamwork, curiosity, and creative thinking,” said Damir Maglajlić, Executive Director of Bit Alliance.
CoderDojo is part of a global initiative that provides young people around the world with free access to programming and technology education. Participants have the opportunity to learn the basics of web development, app creation, software solutions, and game design through practical workshops and lectures tailored to their age and experience level. The sessions are led by IT students, supported by mentors from Bit Alliance member companies.
“Over the years, CoderDojo has brought together many instructors and mentors who later went on to become university assistants, IT professionals, or active community members. This proves the program’s lasting impact, offering young people a chance to learn, grow, and find their place in the world of technology,” said Hamza Čengić, Marketing and Projects Associate at Bit Alliance and CoderDojo Project Manager.
The CoderDojo Summer School 2025 is organized in cooperation with partners in Sarajevo (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo; International Burch University; Sarajevo School of Science and Technology; and International University of Sarajevo), Banja Luka (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Banja Luka), Mostar (Faculty of Information Technologies, University “Džemal Bijedić”), Zenica (Youth Center INPUT), and Travnik (University “VITEZ”). These partner institutions will also serve as program venues.
Participation in the program is completely free of charge, but the number of available spots is limited. Applications can be submitted via the provided link. The application deadline is July 11, 2025, at 11:59 PM for Sarajevo, Zenica, Travnik, and Banja Luka locations, while the deadline for Mostar is August 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
