Sarajevo, 2026 – Bit Alijansa, the leading association of IT companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has opened applications for CoderDojo 2026, a free summer coding school for children and young people aged 13 to 17.
This year, the program will be implemented in Sarajevo, Zenica, Travnik and Mostar, at a total of eight locations, in cooperation with universities, faculties and local institutions. The CoderDojo coding school in Sarajevo, Zenica and Travnik will be held from 13 to 31 July 2026, while the Mostar edition of the school will be held from 25 August to 5 September 2026.
CoderDojo is part of a global initiative that provides young people around the world with free access to knowledge in the field of coding and technology. Through practical workshops and lectures tailored to their age and prior knowledge, participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of developing websites, applications, software solutions and games, develop their own projects, meet peers with similar interests and creatively explore the possibilities that technology offers.
The classes will be led by IT students, with mentoring support from experts from IT companies that are members of the Bit Alliance. In this way, participants will have the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment, ask questions, develop their ideas and acquire practical knowledge that can be an important foundation for their future educational and professional development.
"CoderDojo is one of the programs through which the Bit Alliance wants to bring the world of technology closer to young people in a simple, practical and fun way. Our goal is for children and young people, regardless of their previous knowledge, to have the opportunity to discover programming, develop creativity and acquire skills that can be an important foundation for their future educational and professional path," says the Bit Alliance.
This year's CoderDojo programming school will be held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo, the International Burch University, the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology and the International University of Sarajevo, then at the University/University "VITEZ" in Travnik, at the INPUT Youth Center in Zenica, as well as at the Faculty of Information Technology of the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar.
