Local employment partnerships
The Local Partnerships for Employment program supported the development of startup ecosystems in Sarajevo and Banja Luka through support for new businesses in IT and creative industries.
Through the “Local Partnerships for Employment” program, implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO), co-financing was provided for the establishment of startups in the IT and creative industries. The program was launched to increase employment—especially among young people—by supporting new business ideas and strengthening local economic initiatives.
The Role of Bit Alliance
Bit Alliance participated in the implementation of two projects within this program — in the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo and the City of Banja Luka. Its role included coordinating and implementing technical mentoring sessions for new startup owners, as well as selecting businesses for financial support in collaboration with other partner institutions.
Activities and Partnerships
Sarajevo – Center for EntrepreneurshipThe project was carried out in partnership between the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, CEFE BiH, the International Burch University, the Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton, and Bit Alliance. The focus was on developing entrepreneurial skills and supporting young people in launching their own businesses in the IT and creative industries.
Banja Luka – Support for IT StartupsThe project was implemented in cooperation with the City of Banja Luka, the City Development Agency (CIDEA), the Innovation Center Banja Luka (ICBL), and Bit Alliance. The project aimed to strengthen entrepreneurial competencies, support youth self-employment, and create new jobs in the IT sector.
